The Course

• This holiday is designed for all levels although some experience would be an advantage.

• Classes from 09:30 - 12:30 & 13:30 - 15:00 with a critique of the day's work in the evening.

• Rosemary will be working on paper using watercolour, gouache & acrylic individually or using them in mixed media.

• You will be encouraged to work loosely, experiment, have fun and move away from set ideas to help you move forward in your work.

• Maximum of 10 participants.

• Excursions to Montreux, Chateau de Chillon & the Giannada exhibition in Martigny.

Biography

After studying at Canterbury and Bideford Colleges of Art, Rosemary moved to Norfolk in the early 1970s where she combines painting professionally with running regular art classes for adults, also giving demonstrations and hosting occasional life classes. Working in oils, gouache, acrylic, mixed media and collage, she takes inspiration from natural and man made objects and surroundings, including her spectacular, "Artist's" garden which has featured in 2 national magazines. Subjects range from beach scenes, still life and figures in interiors, to portraits, city scenes and abstract work. Rosemary's paintings, which fetch up to £2,000, have been accepted by the Royal Academy, and she has exhibited with the New English Art Club at the Mall Galleries, London, on several occasions. Her work, which has been described as "English Impressionist", is currently on show at the Llewellyn Alexander gallery on the Southbank in London, also shows in York and North Yorkshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
