ITINERARY

On arrival in Morgins there will be time to settle in and take a short walk around the village before welcome drinks and dinner are served in the chalet.

Day 1 (Sunday): We start the week with the challenge of the ropes and ladders course in nearby Champoussin, with a specially adapted course for children. Champoussin is also a glorious place to relax and unwind and you shouldn't miss the goat farm at Chez Gaby. We return via the spa baths at Val d'Illiez to enjoy the soothing, natural waters.

Day 2: We explore Montreux and the surrounding area with a visit to the world famous Chateau de Chillon. After a lakeside walk to the city, we take a paddle steamer over to Bouveret and visit the Swiss Vapeur Park with its model village and miniature steam railway.

Day 3: Trek on horseback through the gloriously unspoilt Vallon de They. In the afternoon we will visit the famous Lavaux vineyards for wine tasting with Fabrice Neyroud - a small wine grower who still uses the traditional, wooden wine press.

Day 4: Today we hike to the top of the Bellevue for spectacular views over France and Switzerland, returning to Morgins via the Ferrage cheese farm where we will see the traditional methods of making raclette cheese.

Day 5: Visit the medieval village of Gruyere - quintessential Switzerland. Sample some of the delights at the Nestle chocolate factory as well as trying a cheese fondue.

Day 6: Our holiday continues as we drive to Chamonix, arguably the most famous of alpine resorts and a mecca for mountaineers. We travel on to the fabulous cog railway and the recently installed telecabine to view the amazing ice caves. We end the day with summer sledging - one of the most exciting ways of descending a mountain (quite quickly) in the summer!

Day 7: Our tour comes to an end after breakfast with a transfer at 10:00 to Geneva airport.
