Day 1: (Sunday)

Our first guided walk starts after taking the Foilleuse chair-lift to an altitude of 1,800m. From here there is a short, steep climb to La Truche and then a gentle stroll through meadows to the Pertuis Chetrain. A well marked track takes us to the Bonavau alpine farm and thence to Tovassiere. This is a delightful spot with the Fontaines Blanches waterfall providing a suitably dramatic back drop. Tovassiere is a popular watering hole for walkers & mountain bikers and most weekends there is a local “orchestre” doing battle with the cow bells! We return via the picturesque Chemin des Ponts in the Portes du Soleil valley. (approx 4 hours of walking).

Day 2

Today we tour the vineyards in the Lavaux region above Montreux accompanied by an experienced wine tour leader. Your guide will collect you from Morgins and drive you to the vineyards clustered above the chic towns of Montreux and Vevey – home to Nestle. During the tour we have the opportunity to stroll through the vineyards and taste a selection of wines and local meats & cheeses. The train will take us back to Montreux and we return by minibus to Morgins. (approx 2 hrs of walking).

Day 3

Today’s walk is a climb from Morgins (1,330m) to the Pointe de Bellevue 2,041m. The initial section is quite steep but the path soon finds a gentler incline through the forest above the village, bringing us to the secluded Corbeau café. From here, we stroll through alpine pastures awash with wild flowers, gradually wending our way towards the Portes du Culet which presents us with our first sighting of the Mont Blanc. The path now becomes more demanding; it narrows and there is a steep climb to the Pointe de Bellevue at 2,041m from where we have wonderful views of Lac Leman and the Diablerets massif. The mountain is aptly named! The steep descent soon becomes more gradual and we return to Morgins via the “Ferrage” cheese farm – specialists in making the famous raclette cheese. From the ferrage there is a 40 minute walk to the village – a wonderful trail with glorious views of the Dents du Midi. (approx 5hrs of walking).
