The Style
Our holidays are designed to encourage individual and group
responsibilities, as well as further the students education, and
we run our chalets in such a way as to support this. For instance, we
expect students to maintain a high standard of tidiness in their rooms
and in the chalet generally (maid service is not provided!) and they are
expected to help with table clearing at the end of each meal. For many
of our younger guests this will be their first week away from home and
we feel this will encourage a degree of self-sufficiency and independence.
For older students re-enforcement is never too late!.
Students will be accommodated in twin, triple or four-bedded rooms several
of which have en-suite facilities. Sharing is a concept we consider to
be very important and, although the students will no doubt be aquainted
with each other, living under the same roof for a period of time will
help to develop this.
The Chalets
Our traditional, Valaisanne chalets are situated within
300 - 400 metres of the centre of the village and, dating back to the
1800s, are among some of the oldest buildings in Morgins. They retain
much of the warm, welcoming atmosphere of by-gone days and soon start
to feel like home. Although in close proximity to the centre, the chalets
enjoy peaceful, safe locations. Each chalet is surrounded by a large,
lawned area perfect for relaxation and barbecues in the hot summer months.
Ski Morgins Educational runs its chalets in a very relaxed style to encourage
interaction within the groups and between party leaders and its own staff.
Each chalet has a large, central sitting room equipped with T.V., VCR
and CD player. Grand Cergnat and Bois Gentil both have games rooms with
table tennis facilities.
The Catering
A continental style breakfast is usually served at 0800
with the days activities starting at 0900.
A light lunch or picnic (depending on the programme) will be provided
and a 2 course evening meal is served at about 1930.
We cater for a variety of dietary requirements; vegetarians, no beef or
pork menus and medical conditions such as nut allergies. We do not, however,
cater for fussy eaters! Our aim is to provide healthy, balanced and wholesome
meals using, as far as possible, fresh, locally grown produce.
