Suggested Route to Morgins

From Calais there are several routes to Morgins but the most direct one is:

  • Calais A26 Reims (Motorway)

  • Reims A26 Troyes (Motorway)

  • Troyes A5 Langres (Motorway)

  • Exit Langres Sud Junction 6

  • Take D6 Longeau

  • Longeau D67 Gray via Champlitte

  • Gray D67 Besançon (Follow green signs for Lausanne)

  • Besançon N57 Pontarlier

  • Pontarlier N57 Vallorbe Swiss Border

  • Vallorbe N1 Lausanne (Motorway)

  • Lausanne N1 Montreux/Grand St. Bernard

  • Exit N1 Monthey/St. Triphon/Pas de Morgins.

  • Follow signs for Morgins.

Once in Switzerland you will need to buy a ‘vignette’, costing Sfr40 to use the Swiss motorways. You will need euros or credit cards for the French motorways tolls which amount to about £40 each way for the above route. You should consult the AA to see what equipment is obligatory in France and Switzerland.
Although snow chains are not a legal requirement we reccommend that your vehicle should be equipped with them because the police may stop you coming up the last hill to Morgins if there is heavy snow fall and the roads are busy or blocked.
